Income Protection Insurance
In the event of permanent or temporary disablement resulting from either sickness or accident, a benefit percentage of your income will be received as an income stream for the period you are out of work. It is an important part of insurance as it allows you to pay for regular living expenses while being temporarily out of employment.
Business Expenses
In the event of permanent or temporary disablement resulting from either sickness or accident, business expenses can continue to be paid for up to 12 months after the waiting period. E.g. Equipment, motor vehicle lease, rent or interest payments on business loans, accounting fees, non-income producing employees.
Term Life Insurance
Term Life Insurance provides a lump sum payment to the policy owner or nominated beneficiaries in the event that the life insured dies while the policy is in force. Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) and Trauma cover are often bundled with Term Life cover, as optional extensions or ‘riders'.
TPD Insurance
TPD Insurance is usually sold as a ‘rider' (additional benefit) in addition to a term insurance policy. It can be obtained as a "stand alone" policy. This cover provides payment of the sum insured should the life insured become totally incapacitated through injury or illness and satisfies the policies definition of
Disability.
Trauma/ Crisis Care
Trauma Insurance is designed to provide a cash lump sum payment when the insured is diagnosed with certain specified medical conditions (e.g. heart attack, stroke, cancers, etc.). The cover extends to injuries or in case the injured should happen to die.
Child Insurance - Trauma/Crisis Care
As a parent, its not something you wish to dwell upon, but its reality that even young children become seriously ill or die. As "a rider" to adult Trauma insurance, this covers the lives of children. If your child suffers a specified trauma condition or dies, the amount insured is paid as a lump sum. This may assist with specialist medical expenses, rehabilitation, modifications to the home or funeral expenses.
Living Expenses
In the event of permanent or temporary disablement resulting from either sickness or accident, a person who does not otherwise earn an income (i.e. Home maker or retired from the workforce) a benefit is payable to age 65 or 80, decided at time of application. This cover can ensure adequate financial assistance at time when ancillary payments or loss of income by a caring partner could otherwise impact on the household income.
